In a weekend that will go down in digital folklore, a wave of online gloom swept across platforms after conspiracy-hungry netizens discovered that Donald J. Trump ,widely (and prematurely) declared deceased during a public absence was, in fact, very much alive.

Even worse, he’s not just alive – he’s doubling down on tariffs.

    Doom-Scrollers Disappointed

For several hours, hashtags like #TrumpIsDead and #WhereIsTrump trended worldwide. Some users shared blurry photos of Trump’s hand and ankles, pointing to them as “evidence” of his demise.

Others speculated that Vice President J.D. Vance’s recent comments about being “ready for tragedy” were a hint that the president had passed away.

All until Trump was found playing golf and ‘very active’ on Truth Social.

    Playing Golf, and With Tariffs

The theory collapsed when Trump appeared in Virginia on Saturday morning, smiling and carrying his clubs. His appearance not only ended the death rumors but quickly shifted attention back to one of his favorite topics — tariffs.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump warned that removing his trade levies would “literally destroy the United States.” His comments followed a federal appeals court ruling that most of his sweeping tariffs were unlawful.

It’s irresponsible to come back alive and talk about tariffs and taxes.

    Trump Proceeds With AI Slop

Just hours after his reappearance, on August 31, 2025, President Trump posted around 15 AI-generated images and videos to Truth Social—featuring himself as everything from a police officer to a SWAT member, to standing before a fiery Earth with the caption “The world will soon understand nothing can stop what is coming.”

Moreover, he did not back out of his Tariffs plans, and hinted that America would be having a supposedly good year if his tariffs are approved by the court, while several credible evidences and research papers indicate otherwise.

Several netizens on twitter and reddit took hint of JD Vance’s quote “Yes, terrible tragedies happen” as an indicator of Trump’s demise. But others are now certain that JD Vance was referring to Trump’s tariffs as a terrible tragedy.

With all 2025 tariffs currently in place, the U.S. is facing an average effective tariff rate of around 18%, the highest since 1934.

Consumers are already feeling the pinch—prices have risen 1.8%, translating to an average household loss of about $2,400 in purchasing power. Some families are seeing even steeper hikes: back-to-school supplies have jumped 30–40%, while basic school lunch items like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are up 6%.

Tariffs are also projected to shrink GDP growth by roughly 0.5 percentage points, and real income for middle-income households could drop by $2,000–$3,800 annually.

    Trump to Stay On Course

Several economists and experts have said that Trump does whatever he wants , and does not have any regards for repercussions.

Experts paint a clear picture of Trump’s refusal to back down. According to the Associated Press, even after a federal appeals court ruled his tariff policies unlawful, the court left them in effect while acknowledging “Trump’s determination to press on despite the ruling”
